Silverton Hospital awards Inteck, Inc. consulting contract

DENVER, COLORADO, July 30, 2010 (Inteck, Inc.)- Healthcare facilities face many and continuous challenges as new technologies and legislation evolve. Such is the case at Silverton Hospital a not for profit facility of 48 licensed beds located in Silverton, Oregon. Silverton Hospital interviewed Inteck and two other firms to assess what they should do to migrate to MEDITECH 6.0. Inteck was selected to perform the analysis. Inteck’s assessment has provided Silverton Hospital with a roadmap and priorities to prepare for the upgrade to 6.0.

To undertake new information technology initiatives such as migrating to MEDITECH 6.0, a hospital must make fully certain that proper planning and preparation is made to ensure successful implementations. Facilities that have failed to do so in the past find that down the road they may have to spend more time and money to remedy problems that could have been avoided with a readiness assessment. Silverton Hospital recognized this need and took the appropriate steps to begin the assessment process. Current and future state readiness assessments should be performed in all areas that will be affected by the new technology and processes. This will ensure that the appropriate staff and workflow processes are prepared and educated to use this new technology and that the integration of new initiatives with existing systems and processes will be smooth and seamless. All users of Information Technology (IT) must feel comfortable and knowledgeable with the IT they must work with daily.
