Duties

• Perform Part A and/or Part B Medicare billing and adjustments in accordance with Medicare guidelines including Medicare Managed Care Payors.
• Follow-up with Fiscal Intermediary for payment or account status.
• Resolve account non-payment issues resulting from invalid coding, missing documentation, and/or other miscellaneous reasons for non-payment of claim.
• Responsible for prompt account follow-up, EOB reviews for payment appropriateness or denials.
• Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures; reporting compliance issues.
• Provide support and training on general Medicare billing, guidelines and regulations.
• Prepare and post adjustments as related to billing and payment of Medicare claims
• Enhances billing department and hospital client's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of Medicare Part A and Part B billing experience, including experience interacting with fiscal intermediaries. Good oral communication skills required, bilingual a plus. Must be able to travel as required.

• Working knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulations, policies, & procedures.

• Ability to enter data electronically to process charges, payments, denials and adjustments * Knowledgeable in patient account work flows.
